The certificate is designed to help enhance the knowledge of business theory through education as well as develop professional business skills within specific areas of interest.
The Business Management Certificate offers specialization tracks in general management, marketing, corporate finance, and international business. Each track consists of two core courses in managerial economics and business ethics as well as four track-specific electives. Each track utilizes course materials and techniques grounded in current business theories and best practices.

The Executive Business Management Certificate is ideally suited for business professionals who seek to advance their career, capitalize on new professional opportunities, or change career paths. The Business Management Certificate is also suited for those who lack a formal, professional business education, but want to obtain a foundation in business theory and practice. A bachelor's degree is required.
Students enrolling in the Executive Business Management Certificate program must demonstrate basic computer skills through successful completion of a challenge exam or submission of a transcript reflecting completion of a college-level computer course. Students unable to satisfy this requirement must complete the Business Management Certificate program's Introduction to Computer Skills course. There is no charge for either the challenge exam or the Introduction to Computer Skills course.
The Executive Business Management Certificate is a continuing education program offering a core foundation in managerial economics and business ethics and provides specialization tracks that target specific business skill development. Students interested in a professional business education may select one of the following specialization tracks:
Corporate Finance
In this track, students will develop robust capital budgeting skills using sophisticated tools for financial decision making. Students will develop analytical thinking skills and the ability to make sound investment decisions and contribute to the efficiency of a firm.
General Management
The intent of this track is to develop students’ ability to create strategies that attain and sustain competitive advantage. Students will gain an understanding of strategic management process and theory and will practice applying these processes through the use of business case studies. A key component of this track is the evaluation of the pros and cons of strategies in a general business environment.
International Business
The global environment presents challenges as well as opportunities. This track examines the development and implementation of business strategies for worldwide operations. Upon completion of this track, students will understand alternative strategies for creating and sustaining a global competitive advantage.
Marketing
In this track, students will learn to effectively evaluate marketing opportunities and design effective marketing programs through implementing promotional levers, understanding consumer behavior, and utilizing market research in a dynamic global environment. The aim here is to develop not only the analytical skills necessary to design such programs, but also the communication skills needed to facilitate successful implementation of a plan including the four Ps: place, price, product, and promotion.
