Curricula for Fire Fighting Training
Fundamentals of Fire Fighter Skills Interactive (Firefighter 1 and 2) is an online fire service training program developed in partnership with Jones and Bartlett Publishers. The program is designed to provide an engaging learning experience for Fire Fighter I and II level students. The fire fighting training curricula thoroughly supports instructors and is designed to prepare students for the job through a series of online modules that brings Fire Fighter I & II material to life with video, Flash animation, photographs, illustrations, and case-based scenarios.
The interactive fire training classes provide an alternative blended learning experience that covers the entire spectrum of the Fire Fighter I and II professional qualifications levels as outlined in the 2008 edition of NFPA 1001, Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications. It also covers the job performance requirements from the 2008 edition of NFPA 472, Standard for Competence of Responders to Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Incidents, at the awareness and operations levels.
Just like a printed review manual or study guide, this resource can be used as a virtual workbook to reinforce important concepts presented in the fire training classes. It can also be used as a full distance learning course in place of the traditional lecture settings.
