Kaplan Continuing Education – Fire and EMS Division’s EKG 12-lead EKG course is an excellent review of the EKG interpretation skills a paramedic requires in the field.  The course includes a thorough, interactive, and engaging review of:

  • Cardiac anatomy and physiology
  • Coronary circulation
  • Limb leads and chest leads
  • Normal EKG complex
  • Acute coronary syndrome – classification and pathophysiology
  • EKG appearances in various clinical scenarios
    • ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI)
    • Non-ST elevation myocardial infarction
    • Acute myocardial ischemia
  • Ventricular dysrhythmias

The course will sharpen, refresh, and review the critically important paramedic skill set of EKG interpretation.
