With this in mind, Kaplan Fire & EMS Training has designed a proprietary, cutting-edge learning management system (LMS) for delivering its Fire & EMS course content and system functionality to the industry. Our robust web-based platform gives your personnel anytime, anywhere access to training materials and resources-while you enjoy a suite of valuable tools that allow you to monitor their progress every step of the way.

Manager Control Panel

Intuitive and easy to use, the Manager Control Panel features powerful tracking, reporting and administration tools that give you unprecedented control and visibility of the learning process.

REPORTING
  • Reports: Pull on-the-fly reports pertaining to student licenses, courses completed by students, incomplete assignments, the number of credits each of your students has earned, and more.
STUDENT AND GROUPS
  • Student Manager: Organize and manage your students' personal information and education history.
  • Custom Groups: Create customized groupings of your personnel (certification level, specialty, station, battalion, etc.) for use in various features in the LMS.

COURSES AND TRAINING

  • Course Manager: Review course descriptions, deadlines, release dates, and credits per course. You can also assign specific courses to indvidual students or student groups.
  • Create Course: Upload your own department or agency content (Word, PDF, video, etc.) and build tests on that material to assign to your personnel in the Kaplan LMS.
  • External Credit Manager: Enter vital information about credits your students have earned or training that has been completed outside of the Kaplan LMS.
  • ISO: Use smart forms to enter data and track training completed which helps the department or agency meet ISO requirements. Easily pull a report to get this data back out of the system.
  • Print Certificates: Instantly create attractive course completion certificates for a single student or an entire group of students.
SITE CONFIGURATION
  • Site Configuration: Enable/disable certain website functionality for your students and set the frequency for how often their account information is updated (email address, etc.).
  • Customize Student View: Choose which modules will be displayed when you drill down to the student view, such as CEUs Earned and Licenses.
  • Manage Notifications: Manage and customize the email notifications that are sent to your students, such as course deadline reminders. You can also build your own customized notification that summarizes courses completed in the LMS and provides certificates of completion.
MISCELLANEOUS
  • EMS Complaints: Track complaints filed against your department or agency in order to identify training areas that need attention.
  • EMS Intubations: Track intubation attempts and results in order to pinpoint where additional education may be needed for your staff.
  • Student License Manager: Specify which licenses are automatically added to each of your students' license records and how many credit hours are required in each category.
Custom News & Announcements

The News & Announcements feature allows you to post critical department news to a shared portal-and alert your students to new postings via email.

Log in from anywhere to instantly to do any of the following:

  • Share the latest department updates for events, protocol, shift availabilty, etc.
  • Add links to relevant items
  • Attach documents that need to be reviewed

      You can designate which personnel need to view the news item (students, managers) and you can make the item "read-required" so that it MUST be reviewed and accepted before the user proceeds to any training.

      Resource Center

      Upload department or agency resources (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, audio clips, images, or videos) that can be shared with your personnel. You can also add a link to a site outside of the Kaplan platform such as YouTube. Be search to categorize your files and add descriptions for easy searching later.

          Student Control Panel

          The Student Control Panel not only gives your personnel point-and-click access to their online curriculum; it allows them to easily register for courses, manage their licenses, and keep track of the classes they've completed.

           

          Personal Information: Students can self-update their email address, home address, and job-related information (National Registry number, firefighter ID and more).

          Licenses:Students can add and edit their active EMS credentials, keep track of credit hours required for each license, and specify actions needed to achieve and maintain those licenses.

          Notification Options:Students can select their preferred method of notification, such as email. They can also specify who should be notified about the credits they earn, and how they should be notified.

          Register for CourseStudents can view individual and package course descriptions and register directly online.

          ClassroomStudents can view all of the courses for which they've registered and begin any course with a single mouse click.

          External Credits: Students can add details about courses completed outside of the Kaplan platform, including the institution (department training, courses at a conference) and CEUs earned, as long as they are given these rights by the account manager.

          Purchases Features a detailed list of which credits the student has purchased and when.

          Customize Home Page: Students can specify which modules are displayed when they log into the LMS, such as Personal Information and Completed Courses.

          Site Configuration Enable/disable certain website functionality for your students and set the frequency for how often their account information is updated (email address, etc.).

          Customize Student View:Choose which modules will be displayed when you drill down to the student view, such as CEUs Earned and Licenses.

          Completed Courses: Displays a detailed, printable list of all courses completed by the student to date, both at Kaplan and externally.
